“strona.” is located in the revitalized Dom Książki (House of Books) at 13a Gwarna Street – a place steeped in history that for decades housed one of Poznań’s most iconic bookstores. Today, it has taken on a new life as a unique venue that brings together a restaurant, café, and bookstore – creating a space for conversation, reflection, and culinary exploration.
Guests are welcomed across two levels. On the ground floor (level 0), a relaxed, informal atmosphere invites visitors to enjoy a coffee, breakfast, lunch, or dinner in a space where café culture merges effortlessly with dining and literature. On level –1, a more intimate and formal dining area is reserved for evening service and special bookings. There is also a rooftop terrace available for use upon arrangement with the staff – offering a peaceful retreat in the heart of the city.
The concept was developed by Paweł Salamon – head chef and co-owner, recognized as one of the most creative and experienced chefs of Poland’s younger culinary generation. At “strona.” he brings to life his vision of responsible, modern, seasonal cooking. While plant-based cuisine plays a significant role, it is not the only focus – the menu also features carefully crafted meat and fish dishes, as well as thoughtfully prepared gluten-free options. The philosophy centers on local ingredients, respect for the product, flavor-driven creativity, and a sustainable, low-waste approach.
The menu changes regularly to reflect the seasons and what’s available from local producers. Each dish balances simplicity with sophistication, visual beauty with mindful intent.
The interior preserves the spirit of the House of Books – minimalist, bright, lined with shelves full of books, offering a calm, welcoming space equally suited for social gatherings and solitary moments. In the summer months, guests can enjoy the courtyard garden with its mural. Plans are also in place to open an in-house artisanal bakery in the future.
“strona.” is more than a restaurant – it's also a cultural hub. The venue hosts intimate concerts, author events, culinary workshops, and film screenings. It’s a place that inspires and invites pause – located in the city center, yet removed from its bustle.
Thanks to Paweł Salamon’s vision, “strona.” has quickly become one of the most interesting new destinations on Poznań’s culinary and cultural map – combining good food, responsibility, locality, and a literary soul in a way that resonates with food lovers and seekers of meaningful experiences alike.
