Botanical Garden

A garden on Ogrody (Polish for gardens): a vast green oasis in the Ogrody district of Poznań.

The Botanical Garden was founded in 1922-1925. On an area of ​​22 ha, it houses an impressive collection of over 7,000 species and varieties of plants from almost all climatic and plant zones on Earth.


In the central part of the Garden there is an Exhibition and Teaching Pavilion, and nearby there is a historic wooden Summer Pavilion. Interesting plants and occasional compositions are available at the Botanik Garden Center. There is also a modern meteorological station and an air pollution monitoring station.

In the Botanical Garden are organised lectures, courses, workshops and field activities. Nature and gardening enthusiasts, children and students can use the educational paths. During outdoor events, such as May Day and the September Botany Birthday, festivals, fairs, trips and exhibitions take place.
