The confectionery was established in 1964 inside the Mercure hotel building. It still offers the traditional St. Martin’s croissant, as well as cakes made from old recipes such as Fedora cake, Kostka Włoska, Hetmański cake, and Gniazdko Francuskie. The menu also includes coffee, tea, and soft drinks. There is a small café area with tables, but many customers buy pastries to go. Its central location, close to the train station and the Poznań International Fair, makes it convenient for both locals and visitors.
Mercure is one of the key certified producers of St. Martin’s croissants. Its pastries are well known in Poland and abroad. Around 11 November, long queues form in front of the shop, and residents of Poznań often send the croissants to family, friends, and business partners. It is considered one of the best addresses to buy this specialty.
Fresh croissants are available from the early morning hours both in the confectionery and in the hotel restaurant, which also hosts a stall with local specialties.
