Betonhaus, also known as Hala Betonowa, is a historic building from 1911, located in Wilson Park in Poznań. It can be accessed from the park side or via Głogowska Street and then Śniadeckich Street.
Originally, it served as an exhibition pavilion during the East German Exhibition of Industry, Crafts, and Agriculture, showcasing, among other things, hunting trophies of Emperor Friedrich Wilhelm. After World War I, the building was repurposed for educational use, hosting the Chair of School Hygiene and Physical Education Theory at the Piast University, and later being utilized by the Academy of Physical Education.
In 2024, following extensive revitalization, Betonhaus reopened as a meeting place and gastronomic space. It currently houses restaurants such as Petit Paris, styled after French breakfast spots, and the Czarny Krokodyl wine bar. Soon, another venue – the Medusa restaurant – is set to open. Notably, Czarny Krokodyl is operated by the owners of the iconic Pod Czarnym Kotem wine bar located in the Grunwald district.
By preserving original architectural elements and adapting the space to new functions, Betonhaus blends historical charm with modern design. It has become an attractive meeting spot and is a popular destination among Poznań residents.
