With the beginning of the summer holidays in July, a rich offer appears for students, who can take part in numerous workshops organized in the branches of the National Museum. Apart from strictly children's attractions, this month also brings plenty of other events, such as the final edition of the ENEA Edison Festival, an outdoor event at the National Museum of Agriculture in Szreniawa presenting the diversity of the region, or a concert as part of the Męskie Granie tour.
August
If anyone is still lacking musical thrills, they cannot miss the August festivals – Bittersweet and Rockowizna. Meanwhile, history fans are in for a treat that is unique on a national scale – Poznań Fortress Days. It is a real celebration for military and fortification enthusiasts, and at the same time an opportunity to appreciate the local passionate people who care for these sites and develop their cultural offer.
Recurring events
Besides large events and recurring workshops for children, which are usually ticketed, the city hosts many intimate events – often free of charge or, as in the case of the Plenerowe Kino Pałacowe (Open-Air Palace Cinema), available for a small fee. From June to August, plenty of open-air screenings are planned as part of initiatives such as Kino na Wolnym, Plenerowe Kino Pałacowe, and NaTarasie. Another initiative is not just about movies. Small concerts and DJ parties will also be held on the aforementioned terrace of Galeria MM. The summer offer also abounds in free outdoor concerts, organized, among others, on the Scena nad Rusałką and as part of the Na Falach series.
A multitude of recurring events is also scheduled at Dwór Skrzynki. The offerings at this venue include outdoor movie screenings, exhibitions, workshops, and much more. We also highly recommend visiting the websites of Jankowice Palace (Pałac Jankowice) and the Śrem Museum (Muzeum Śremskie). They almost always have a wide variety of activities to choose from, and the current summer break is certainly no exception!
Green areas in Poznań and around Poznań
When the heat takes its toll, a walk surrounded by nature is a good idea. The Poznań Citadel, the Botanical Garden, or the areas around Maltańskie Lake are excellent places to relax. While at Malta, you can combine business with pleasure and take a ride on the Maltanka Park Railway. The ride will bring a smile to the faces of young and old, and the train itself will take passengers straight to the New Zoo, where there is also no shortage of soothing shade.
The surroundings of Poznań are by no means inferior to the city, abounding in wonderful green areas. Wielkopolski National Park is an ideal place for wildlife lovers. It is also worth visiting Kórnik, where, apart from the beach and a beautiful promenade along the lake shore, there is a unique arboretum next to the castle. While in this area, you cannot miss Rogalin – famous for its beautiful palace, centuries-old Rogalin oaks, and picturesque landscape park. Let's not forget about attractions for the youngest. DELI Park and the Piast Trail Miniature Park are excellent options for a family trip.

The possibilities, of course, are not limited to these suggestions, so everyone will surely find something for themselves.

Open-air concerts in the Szeląg Garden (Ogród Szeląg) by the Warta River take place every Friday.
